Great discussion. A meeting of two brilliant minds!!! Listening to Monika as I write this. I love her work. Thanks for shining the spotlight on another meaningful artist Boston!!!
I sing and write because music keeps me alive. I do this because of all of the songs that have saved me. I am hoping to write a few of those songs and catch someone else who may be sinking slowly or may in fact be running toward their demise. I sing because it is eases the gap between others and myself. This job enables me to try on other people’s lives and stories and let others relate to my own. My mouth loves the feel of words. My body loves the throb and sway of music. My being knows that it is indeed connected to yours through this magical medium. And that is a pretty darn good reason if you ask me.
XOxoXO,
Liza

Oops. I was just about to drop you a note and saw through your profile comment threads that you wrote me about MW lacing a track for your album. You are probably finished by now? Apologies, Darlin.
I'm going to be in Europe playing/speaking end of August through October. If you are near we should definitely connect there. RAWK! - B
Hola, Liza! Beautiful hearing from you, lady. Loving the arrangement of "Lay We Down." It has a classic feel. I could hear Minnie Riperton ripping it but of course it's hot with you bringing it home too. RAWK! - B
