URB ALT issue call for submission

For ease of organizing and general group feedback, the submissions were originally going to be posted to this thread to create a kind of hive-mind operation putting the issue together. Someone's photo might have inspired another person's poem and so forth. You can post text and images direct to the comment box, or include links to the works in blog entries and through online file managers like Scribd.com or Picasa photo albums for instance.

Here are a few ideas for the Biorecomnibombs theme (If you go with one of these let me know and I'll cross it off the list so no one doubles on it):

*Generational Mojo ( an article, poem, image or image/photo set that focuses on how Mojo shapeshifts through the generations--- Could be focuses on artists, family members, etc)

*The We (A Focus on unity that embraces individuality- This can be in any medium comfortable for you)

*Alternative Consciousness ( A focus on the geeks, punks, and all around genius' that make it possible for the species to progress by defying "the box") in article, poem, or image form)

*Becoming (A focus on what we're leaving the next generation--- This can be poem, image, or article).

* Studying the Elders ( A focus on the importance of Ancestral reverence in a society that would seem to desire casting elders and wisdoms to the wayside--- Can be submitted in article, poem, or image)

*The Many Faces Of The Lover ( A focus on beauty throughout the ages and cultures, with a focus on those that were undeniably appealing to the masses without propaganda or forced fascination/marketing--- Can be submitted as an article, poem, or image/image set)

Peace fellow URB ALtians,

Purple's been thinking about featuring URB ALT for awhile in a full issue,
and approached the Maestro to see what he thought. Turns out he loves
the idea, so we're aiming to have an extra issue ready in time for URB ALT
fest. Because URB ALT is an experience, a community, and a genre, your beingness,
arts, photos, poems, and etc will complete the vibe.

You can add your submissions to this thread for ease, and for building upon.
Images should be 300 dpi minimum. This can be achieved with a program like Gimp
(Gimp.org), or photoshop. Online sites like sumo.fi or piknik.com can also help with
image editing.

Text has no word limit, but keep in mind the issue will be 48 pages or under (zine-sized),
to keep printing (the POD price of the print issue) reasonable in cost. Smaller pieces tend to
be favored to accommodate the average attention span in today's busy world.
Modern Myth for underrepresented culture is also, most welcome, as we feature Modern
Myth in every issue of Purple in the form of story, poem and/or image.

Issue theme: " Biorecomnibombs"
, coined by Sir Fielder, defined as: the inevitable re-emergence of the Mojo on familiar soil.

This issue will focus on the many incarnations of alternative consciousness. The we. The I AM's many faces.
Who we've been. Who we're becoming... You get the idea.

Any questions, feel free to submit them here, or PM me if you have privacy concerns.

Any work submitted that isn't used for the issue, may be used in another issue of Purple, with full credit to you of course.
