URB ALT

URB ALT is Everything and Nothing. Labels are a Box. Create your own Box

1)Astor Piazzola: Zero Hour album on vinyl. This album came out on Sting's old record label "Pangaea." "Libertango" is one of the featured songs. Grace Jones covered it on her Night Clubbing album. I put two of Piazolla's videos up. Y'all check him out.

2)Free Moral Agents: This is Ikey Owens' alternative group demo. You probably already know that Ikey is the brother that catches wreck on the keys for the Mars Volta. This music sounds nothing like Mars but is very cool in it's own right.

3)Miles Davis, Agharta: My bestest favorite Miles Davis album. This album was part of a trio of records that he released in 1975 from a live show in Japan. It featured three guitarists: an amazing Brazilian named Dominique Gaumont; the soon to be producer for Madonna, Reggie Lucas; and the master six string sound technician, Pete Cosey. The legend is that this band opened up the gates of hell with the music on this album. Miles was having all kinds of medical and drug issues during this period so his performance career kind of ground to a halt until his return to a much more pop oriented sound in the late 80s.

4)Issac Hayes: Hot Buttered Soul. "Walk On By," indeed. R.I.P. It Up, Ike.

What ch'all listening to?

Love,

B

Yeah, I was temporarily insane this summer, when I believed in magic and almost got arrested, haha. People, you don't have to sustain that initial feel you get when you first meet someone. It's not going to happen. Stick with the one that feels like an old pair of socks.

And that is why I keep listening to that damn song. Plus the end of the song is wicked!!
